Planning permission in the Green Belt

Louis de Soissons secured planning permission for a contemporary new build residence, located on a sensitive Green Belt site in the Hertfordshire countryside.

The 3-acre site, on a former fruit farm which had fallen into disrepair and neglect, came with a complex planning history. The design approach led to a simple, light touch, minimising the variety of materials, using timber to mimic the adjacent barns and blend in with the rural setting. In close collaboration with the planning consultants, a strategy was established for the sensitive redevelopment of the site. As part of a wider masterplan for the ecological revival of the site, the first phase creates a delightful forever home for the client.
