Marlowes – Hemel Hempstead

Complex structural extensions to 1960’s mixed use block

This project involves working with an existing 2 storey building in the centre of Hemel Hempstead, fronting onto Marlowes Shopping Centre.

Our scheme retains the structural bones of an existing 1960s building. We worked closely with the client and existing tenants to create a scheme which will convert existing space to residential whilst adding 2 further storeys to the existing. This will provide 44,  1 and 2 bed private and affordable units. The scheme also addresses servicing issues on the site to improve the running of the site.

The existing façade will be removed and replaced with a new façade that harmonises the development.
